I was ridiculously excited when Jennifer contacted me through the Inspiration Through Art site. I’ve been a member for a while now, but this was my first contact for a session. Here is a small little blurb about ITA:
Inspiration Through Art is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people to give back, and make a difference through the beauty of art. We are artists with a passion for giving and inspiring others. Through our own artistic talents, we are able to come together as one, to let children around the world know that they are loved, despite the challenges they face everyday.
The H family includes two ridiculously sweet kids, the youngest being Georgia, who was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome at 18 months. Angelman Syndrome is a rare neurogenetic disorder that leads to significant developmental disabilities and cognitive delays, but that doesn’t define Miss Georgia. She is truly just all smiles, bright eyes, and pure sunshine bottled up into a petite little package. Her brother just loves her so, and from the images below, you can tell she loves her brother as well.
A note from Jennifer:
Georgia is a sweet-natured, beautiful, and social toddler. [...] We are hopeful she will one day walk and talk, knowing that some “angels” diagnosed with AS are never able to run with other children or say “I love you,” and many regress with severe seizures. People are drawn to Georgia’s sweet personality, laugh, and smile. She is love, pure happiness, and a light in our lives.
The H family and many others are participating in the Angelman Syndrome Foundation Walk tomorrow, May 18th, 2013. They’ve already SMASHED their original goal of $2,500, and continue to raise funds and awareness towards AS. If you are able, please consider donating a small amount towards the AS foundation. Give up that Starbucks cup of coffee for a day and put it towards a cause that can TRULY make a difference in the coming years with a cure and powerful treatments for Angelman Syndrome! Visit their page here and click “Support Me!” to donate!
Also, when you click on that link you get a pretty awesome sound effect. Ha!![]()
Thank you, thank you again, H family, for allowing me to be a part of your awesome story and document your amazingly sweet family!
